What are Tribe Battles?
Battles are time-bounded competitions between Tribes. One Tribe challenges another on a market category and a duration, terms are agreed and locked, eligible activity is scored, and the result settles into both Tribes' records. They turn a leaderboard into something live, with rivalries, streaks and trophies attached.
How a challenge works
Choose an opponent, a market category, a duration and the permitted stake. Send the challenge. The other Tribe accepts, counters or declines. Matching terms lock, eligible activity is scored, and the result and history settle. Rivalry pages keep head-to-head records.
What is at stake
Friendly Battles carry no stake: record, reputation and potentially Rating. XP Battles stake matched Tribe XP, where the winner gains the opponent's stake and a draw returns both. Battle XP is deliberately staked and therefore carries no downside protection, unlike ordinary trading XP.
Can you bet money on a Battle?
Not in the first version. Cash Battles, staking matched USDC or a prize pool, are future-only and subject to regulatory and gambling review. Anyone reading this before launch should treat cash Battles as not offered.
How scoring is meant to work
Risk-adjusted return and drawdown are meant to matter more than raw dollar profit or leverage, and participation counts with diminishing returns so that a very large Tribe does not win automatically. The exact win formula, matchmaking bands and draw thresholds are still to be finalised.
