What is copy trading?

Tribes

Copy trading is an arrangement where one person's trades are automatically reproduced in another person's account, usually scaled to their balance. The follower does not decide each trade. It is the mechanism most often confused with social trading, and it is the one thing Tribes deliberately does not do.

How it usually works

A follower links their account to a trader. When that trader opens or closes a position, the same action is mirrored in the follower's account at a proportional size. The follower's role is choosing whom to follow and when to stop.

What it concentrates

One judgement, applied to many accounts at the same instant. That is the appeal and also the risk: everyone is in at the same price, in the same instrument, and everyone is wrong at the same time.

How Tribes differs

Tribes shares the idea and the discussion, and stops there. Each member chooses their own size, confirms their own entry and picks their own exit. Automatic copy trading and forced group execution are explicitly out of scope, not deferred features.
