Introducing Tribes

Trading has never really been a solo thing. People already trade with friends, send each other charts, drop calls in group chats, argue about entries and celebrate when something works. The weird part is that the tools still treat all of it like it happens alone.

You find a token in a scanner, check X to see what people are saying, jump into a group chat, open a chart somewhere else, then switch again to a wallet or exchange to actually trade it. By the time you get there, the conversation that got you interested is already a few apps behind you.

We think that should be one experience.

Built around people

The idea behind Tribes is simple. Markets are multiplayer.

Someone finds something early. Someone else has the context. Someone disagrees. Another person spots a risk everyone missed. Then everybody makes their own decision.

That is how trading communities already work. So instead of building another trading app and adding chat later, we started with the group.

The Tribe is the centre of the product. It can be a few friends trading together, a public community, a team competing with another Tribe or a creator building a group around the markets they follow.

Each Tribe has its own conversation, Calls, Trades, members, performance and history. You can be part of more than one.

So what is Tribes?

Tribes is a trading app built around people.

You can meet new traders, stay connected with friends, scan markets together, share Calls, talk in chat or voice and open a position without leaving the app.

But trading together does not mean handing over control.

If someone shares a Call, everyone still decides for themselves.

Your entry. Your size. Your exit.

There is no pooled money. Nobody can open or close a position for you, and there is no automatic copy trading. A group can trade the same idea while every position stays individual.

That part matters to us.

Your money stays your decision.

Not everyone adds value the same way

A good trading group is not just the person with the highest P&L.

Sometimes the most useful person is the one who found the token first. Sometimes it is whoever wrote the thesis. Sometimes it is the person who said "this does not look right" while everyone else was getting carried away.

And sometimes it is simply someone helping another member understand what they are looking at.

We want Tribes to recognise that.

Scanners, callers, researchers, traders and people who genuinely help their community should all be able to build a reputation around what they contribute, not only around their returns.

We are also working on something we call Activity Rewards.

The idea is simple. If something you contribute leads to real activity, you should be able to share in some of the value it creates.

Maybe you post a Call and someone trades from it. Maybe you write a thesis that helps someone find an opportunity they would have missed. Maybe something you share helps your Tribe make a better decision.

There is still a lot to figure out, especially around attribution, abuse and making sure useful activity gets rewarded instead of spam.

We will share more as we build it.

If you create value, that should count.

Reputation should be harder to fake

Everyone has seen the same pattern.

The winning screenshot gets posted. The losing trade quietly disappears. A few good calls stay pinned and the rest get forgotten.

Reputation on Tribes is not meant to work like that.

Calls, Trades and Battles can become part of a verified record. Wins stay. Losses stay too.

We also do not think one P&L number tells you whether someone is actually good.

How much risk did they take to get there? How consistent have they been across a real sample? Did the Call reach what it said it would? Of the people who joined, how many finished positive? What happened after the screenshot?

Those are the questions we want the product to answer.

The goal is not another leaderboard where the loudest account looks like the smartest person in the room.

Reputation should come from what actually happened.

We are still early

Tribes is not live yet.

A lot of it is still being built, tested and changed. We have strong opinions about some parts and a long list of things we still have to prove.

That is part of why we are starting this blog now.

We would rather share the product while we are building it than show up later with a finished announcement. So we will write about decisions we are making, things we changed our minds about, design work, infrastructure and the parts that did not work as well as we expected.

Some of what we write today will look different later.

That is fine.
